DIY Denim Cutoff Shorts

yeah yeah yeah i know everybody has done diy them, but not me and they are surprisingly easy too.

they were mom's old light washed jeans, i went for the harp-hazard-slash-casual look. they are slightly baggy on me, but i love it! i did consider sand papering the bottom cuff but nah, one, i' too lazy and two, it's look good enough for me. 

all i needed was a pair of sharp scissors really and now it's at a perfect & ready for me to wear in summer!

It is amazing how Camilla can look so ridiculously good in these out-of-the-world prints. notice the combination of her shoes to these dresses, so spot on. totally gorgeous! i'm not a fan of prints, but I will definitely give it try from now.

i'm one of those people with short attention span,unless i'm watching supernatural. i wander around, fix my hair, open the pantry for food, anything to delay the study process. but for this semester of class, i am going to work my tiny butt off and get some decent grades. so this is my playlist featuring my favorite female artists & i would like to share with you guys.

not too big:  the tinier we are, the smaller the better. or else, you might look like a toddler carrying mommy's bag. the yellow leopard print bag is way too oversize, it eats up her whole frame.

chunky shoes are a no no: i know she is not petite, but they were the best examples i could find. her legs on the first photo doesn't have a nice flow like the second photo. on shorter girls,  it will chop off the length of our legs.

okay i have no idea who they are but this is pretty much what i'm trying to say. they are both of the same height, same dress length, but yet, the girl in the blue dress looks very much taller, don't you think?

oh! before i forget, wearing heels help too. I personally can walk all day comfortably in heels that are approx 8.5cm. God forbid, please don't do a victoria beckham! i know i'm stating the obvious, but seriously, a little height goes a long way.

Les Petite Femmes: How to Look Taller? (Part I)

from someone that is ridiculously tiny, i'm only 5'3. i think it's so important to wear clothes that enhance your body shape. yes, people follow trends but if it doesn't not look good on you, do not wear it! I, for an example, look hideous in mustard or neon colored clothes.  

create a balance: wear a loose knit with tight bottoms vice versa. unless you're thinking 'let's look sloppy today' please wear baggy everything, like the one below.

go extreme (short or long): i personally only wear mini or maxi length clothes, i hate how midi or knee length clothes look on me, it weights me down & makes my leg look stumpy & short.

bodycon bodycon bodycon: because we are already lacking in the height department, i think wearing tighter fit clothes can accentuate our figure & make us look lankier.

however, i think that wearing clothes does comes down to comfort & appeal and for celeb style inspiration, we should always pick someone with similar body shape & skin color as us. there are many petite celebrities out there e.g. Olsen Twins, Lea Michele, Lily Allen, Nicole Richie, Rachel Bilson just to name a few (they are all 5'2 or under) i wanted to write how choosing the right shoes & bags can effect short girls as well, but i guess i'll save it for next time. this post is starting to turn into a full grown essay. eek!
